Vitablend has announce the availability of Bioprotect 350, a liquid antioxidant designed for direct addition to biodiesel fuels that exhibits superior shelf-life extension and prevents damage to engines arising from the by-products of biodiesel oxidation.

Studies carried out as part of the AGQM approval process demonstrated that 350ppm of Vitablend Bioprotect 350 offers the same performance as 1000ppm BHT and out performed all other antioxidant additives with the highest AGQM rating .

In cost terms this could demonstrate a 5 -10% cost saving compared to BHT and in addition, as Vitablend Bioprotect 350 is a ready to use formulation cost savings can be achieved in process addition. Importantly the use of Vitablend Bioprotect 350 does not compromise the existing environmental or toxicity labeling associated with FAME.

As all FAME systems used to make Biodiesel vary depending on the origin and age of the feedstock oil. Vitablend is pleased to offer a service to optimise Bioprotect 350 dose rates for customer specific systems depending on targeted oxidation stability.

Vitablend Bioprotect 350 has recently achieved “No Harm” status from third party testing at Arbeitsgemeinschaft Qualitäts management Biodiesel e. V. (AGQM). This important certification demonstrates exceptionally high antioxidant potency without compromise to the integrity of the diesel engines performance.

AGQM have tested Bioprotect 350 at concentrations of up to 500ppm in B100 FAME in a B10 biodiesel. The resultant Biodiesel satisfied the requirements of EN 14214 and DIN 51628.

Vitablend Bioprotect 350 is a readily miscible liquid antioxidant designed for easy dosing into biodiesel without the need for weighing, diluting and dosing dry ingredients.
