Water Efficiency in Kent, to be held in Ashford, Kent on April 12, is being organised by the Institute of Water in association with the Kent Water Demand Management Group and will bring together speakers from Government and the industry.

Employees from water companies in Kent are being invited to a free seminar to learn more about the increasingly important issue of water efficiency.

These will include the Kent Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development Kevin Lynes, Trevor Bishop from the Environment Agency, Waterwise’s Jacob Tomkins and representatives from South East Water, Sutton & East Surrey Water and Veolia Water.

The event is open to members and non-members of the Institute of Water and will look at the national and regional water efficiency strategy before highlighting specific projects that are taking place in Kent.

After the event, delegates will be invited to review a small exhibition to find out more about current and future technology to help improve water efficiency.

“The predicted effects of climate change sharpen the focus on ensuring management of all our natural resources, including water,” said the Institute of Water’s chief executive, Lynn Cooper. “This seminar brings together experts who will outline current thinking and highlight initiatives that are already starting to show benefits.”
