Travis Perkins showcases renewable technologies and eco-products at EcoBuild 2008
Travis Perkins plc bring the concept of its Renewable Energy and Eco Centres on its stand E719 at EcoBuild 2008. Showcasing renewable technologies and complementary eco-products, the centres were initially launched in June, and will roll out at both Travis Perkins and City Plumbing Supplies branches across the country, providing working product demonstrations and advice for the trade.
The on-stand centre at EcoBuild will feature displays and demonstrations of renewable energy technologies including solar energy systems, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps and water catchment systems, as well as complementary products including insulation. Staff will be on the stand to offer specialist advice on specifying and installing these new technologies.
Jez Cutler, group environment manager, Travis Perkins plc, comments: “The desire for eco-friendly building products is increasing, both from the trade and consumers. However, as with any new technology, the trade needs advice on how to correctly specify and install the product to ensure that targets of lower CO2 emissions and energy bills are achieved. Travis Perkins will be opening Eco Centres within a number of branches across the country to further demonstrate these products and offer expert advice that the trade requires."
John Frost, managing director, City Plumbing Supplies (part of the Travis Perkins Group), adds: “Many of our customers ask for advice on energy efficient alternatives for both new build and retrofit buildings. We are committed to providing the latest renewable energy technologies to the trade, and are therefore delighted to be opening a series of specialist Renewable Energy Centres within City Plumbing Supplies branches to meet this demand.”
