Plastics industry representatives met last week, on November 16 and 17, in Dubai to create a global action plan for solutions on marine litter. This action plan describes actions to be taken and progress to be reported by signatories in 2012. The Redland tiled dwellings are part of a large-scale development programme that consists of 331 houses across 33 sites within East Riding. East Riding Council has specified Redland’s roof integrated Mini Stonewold Solar-PV tile for 100 houses as part of a social housing project in East Riding, Hull. First Wind currently owns and operates three wind projects in Maine – the Mars Hill project and the 57 MW Stetson Wind I and 26 MW Stetson Wind II projects near Danforth. In addition, construction is nearly complete on the 60 MW Rollins Wind project in Lincoln. Commissioning for that project is expected in the next two months. Cyclotec Ltd, a Finnish technology firm, has introduced a new Dry Separation / De Dusting technology for aggregates waste streams which were previously not attractive for recycling. Due to waste fines contamination, most of the fraction smaller than 5-6 mm is not used. Dry screening at 5-6 mm and smaller fractions is not efficient (extensive wear & screens "blinding"). Wind Works Power's wind farms, named "Whispering Woods" (10 MW) and "Ganaraska" (20 MW), will be located in Southern Ontario's Oshawa region and able to supply electricity to approximately 60,000 homes on an annual basis.
