Evance R9000 wind turbine: Evance turbines generate power for farm in Derbyshire

An arable farm in Derbyshire is now harnessing the wind to contribute to its energy requirements while lowering its carbon footprint using two Evance R9000 turbines. Hallmark Tractors, a distributer for Evance Wind Turbines, supplied and installed the two Evance 5kW wind turbines on 18m towers. The latest report on UK Electricity Costs finds that onshore wind is the 'least cost, zero carbon' technology option in the near to medium term. However, the only costs taken into account are those borne by the owner in relation to project operation, and the authors add the caveat that 'externalities relating to environmental and social impacts of construction, operation and fuel supply chains are excluded'. Day4 Energy Inc. has announced it has commenced the construction of a turnkey 1.8MW ground mounted photovoltaic power plant in Niedereschach-Fischbach Germany. The recent abolition of Home Information Packs (HIPs) will make Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) more visible and give them a greater role in tackling climate change.
