South London councils submit PFI application for the funding of new waste treatment facility

The South London Waste Partnership (SLWP) is made up of four councils: Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton. Their combined population is 868,000. The total municipal waste generated by the four boroughs is about 420,000 tonnes per year.
