Hyundai Heavy Industries orders AMSC wind turbine power electronic components

American Superconductor Corporation (AMSC) has received another follow-on order for 30 sets of wind turbine power electronic components from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd (HHI). According to a recent report from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), wind power capacity in the United States recently surpassed 20,000 MW. AWEA expects over 7,500 MW of new wind power to be added in 2008, expanding America’s capacity by 45% to 24,300 MW.
