Metoc is to monitor installation of Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm infrastructure

On completion, the Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm off the East coast of the UK will have a total capacity of around 500MW, with all turbines mounted on steel monopiles and transition pieces, in water depths between 24 and 34 metres. Airtricity to buy 250 General Electric wind turbines

Dublin-based Airtricity has agreed to buy 250 General Electric 1.5 MW turbines in a deal worth $330 million (£163 million). The turbines are due for delivery in 2009 and will help the firm's business in the Texas, Midwest and north-east markets of America.
