Coskata Inc. has announced it will produce 40,000 gallons of cellulosic ethanol a year at a commercial demonstration plant near Pittsburgh.
The $25 million project will be located at the Westinghouse Plasma Center, the current site of a pilot-plant gasifier owned and operated by Westinghouse Plasma Corporation (WPC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Alter Nrg Corp.

Eastman Kodak Company and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. have announced the launch of a national program to recycle used materials from in-store picture kiosks. The program is underway at about 4,100 Wal-Mart stores and Sam’s Clubs in the U.S. that operate KODAK Picture Kiosks, and is expected to annually recycle two million pounds of thermal printer ribbon, spools and cartridges.

Silicon producer West Virginia Alloys (WVA), a unit of Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. has entered into an innovative agreement with Recycled Energy Development (RED) to recycle energy, improving the efficiency of its operations while slashing greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.
